
On Sunday, October 22, the Ogden neighborhood of Chicago was hit by a wave of armed robberies. The Chicago Police Department reports that a group of 2-4 males, outfitted in dark clothing and surgical-like masks, armed with handguns featuring extended magazines, targeted several individuals.
Six locations were subject to their crime spree within a period of a few hours.
The Chicago Police Department relays that these incidents occurred in the following locations and times:
- 2500 block of south Keeler Ave, at 3:15am
- 3000 block of south Harding Ave, to quickly at 3:30am
- 2700 block of south Kildare Ave, at 3:40am
- 2100 block of west Cermak Road, at 6:40am
- 2500 block of south Hamlin Ave, at 6:45am
- 3100 block of west 25th St, at 6:45am
With the ongoing investigation, residents are urged by police to ensure their personal safety and stay alert.
The criminals' vehicles were identified as a dark-colored SUV or a four-door black "KIA" style sedan. These identified elements are key leads for law enforcement in their pursuit to apprehend the culprits.
The Chicago Police Department recommends, among other safety precautions, immediate reporting of these incidents via a 9-1-1 call. Residents are also advised to memorize any distinguishing features of the offenders but to avoid conflict or pursuit of the individuals.
