In the 2nd District (Wentworth) of Chicago, a series of robberies has reportedly disturbed local contractors and residents. Information from the Chicago Police Department (CPD) outlines that two to four male suspects approached a male victim either inside or near his contractor work vehicle. Displaying a black handgun, these suspects proceeded to take work tools from the victim's vehicle before escaping the scene.
The CPD has provided details on the location and timing of these incidents, which have occurred at the following places:
- 3900 block of South Ellis Ave on October 10, 2023, at 12:30 pm.
- 5400 block shortly of South Kimbark Ave on October 12, 2023, at 11:20 am.
- 4700 block of South Langley Ave on October 17, 2023, at 1:40 pm.
Suspects are described as African-American males in dark-colored clothing. The CPD's ongoing investigation invites residents with information to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately. Those confronted should remain calm, avoid pursuing fleeing suspects, and provide accurate information to the authorities post haste.
