A home invasion in the suburban area of Dracut, Massachusetts, occurred today. Two armed men broke into a home on Arkansas Drive around 8 p.m., escaping before the authorities arrived. NBC Boston reports that the suspects remain at large.
During the incident, a resident was restrained by the suspects while another was assaulted with a firearm. The attackers then fled on foot towards Bouchard Street, donning masks and dark clothing. The latter victim was treated at a local hospital and the resident who was restrained, treated on-site for minor injuries.
In speaking about the incident, Dracut Police Chief Peter Bartlett indicates that the victims might have been targeted instead of this being a random act. Boston 25 News reports that investigation continues, and any information related to the case can be relayed to the Dracut police at 978-957-2123.
Neighborhood residents, such as Christine McCormack, are shocked at the event. "This is a quiet suburban neighborhood. You typically don't think anything like this would happen here," she told NBC Boston.
