Recently, officers from District E-13 of the Boston Police Department (BPD) participated in an educational event prevalent for community engagement at the British International School of Boston. During this event, the fifth-grade students engaged in a mock crime scene that was set up by police officers as part of their investigative writing class. This allows them to closely study the scene and compile detailed notes.
Proceeding the crime scene exercise was a spirited question-and-answer session between the officers and students. Supplementing the day's experiential learning was the police car exhibition, which showcased the force's varied vehicles and gear. Acknowledging their enthusiasm, each student received a Community Service Officer (CSO) sticker badge.
Such events underscore the significant role of educational engagement with local law enforcement agencies. It bridges the gap between police and the community, especially the young, fostering a sense of reciprocal understanding and collaboration that is beneficial for all. The British International School thanked the officers in an official letter, praising their dedication and cooperative spirit with the school and students.
