Earlier this week, several law enforcement agencies united to support Cristopher Chavarria, an 11-year-old who is bravely fighting leukemia. This Cancer Support Ride was organized to uplift Cristopher and momentarily steer his focus away from the harsh realities of his illness, as reported by Boston Police Department.
Since his diagnosis in 2018, leukemia has been a difficult part of Cristopher's life. Yet, his resilient spirit has remained unbroken and is inspiring everybody around him, including Officer Daniel Marifiote, who took the initiative to plan this event with District A-7 Captain Dean Bickerton. Their aim was to fill young Cristopher's day with joy.
Boston Police Department members were joined by Revere Police, Revere Fire, Massachusetts State Police, among other agencies in this show of support with a multi agency police procession past Cristopher's residence.
