According to the Boston Herald, the incident happened amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict. The Boston Police Department has since launched a formal investigation.
The WBZ-TV building at 1170 Soldiers Field Road was defaced either late Thursday night or early Friday morning, Boston.com reports. The defacement was first spotted by a security guard during a building check, then later seen by a news anchor leaving the property. Security footage may reveal more about the culprit or culprits. Boston police are urging anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward.
Commenting to Boston Herald on the recent CBS Boston incident, Jeremy Burton, CEO of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston, stated, "Vandalism is a form of criminal activity." He stressed that not every protestor resorts to violent or destructive means, many preferring peaceful demonstrations and legal methods of showing their discontent.
