Yesterday, Boston's Chinatown was the setting for a community event put together by the Boston Police Department (BPD) and the St. Anthony Shrine. Celebrating its 15th year, District A-1 Community Service Office officers and seniors from the Walking Beat program, collaborated with Father Tom Conway, friars, and volunteers from the Shrine, for the annual Turkey Giveaway at the famed religious institution on Arch Street, according to the article of BPD in the Community.
The yearly event serves to highlight the importance of community solidarity and mutual support. Officers, friars, and volunteers collectively went out and distributed a notable 400 turkeys, along with Thanksgiving basics, to underprivileged families in the area.
