Officers from the Community Service Office of District A-1/A-15 coordinated this effort, producing care packages forJake Scanlan and Warren Fitzpatrick. These Charlestown natives, currently enrolled in the armed forces, are stationed in the Middle East; Scanlan aboard the USS Ford and Fitzpatrick part of the Airborne Brigade according to a post on the Boston Police Department website,
Local schools even participated, with students writing uplifting letters to include in the packages. The result was a highly successful donor drive and an array of items gathered for the care packages as per Boston Police Department.
