
Today, a Chicago firefighter sustained critical injuries while battling a fire at 2424 Lincoln Ave in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. The name of the firefighter, who had to be rescued by colleagues while trapped inside the blazing building, has not been released.
Post-rescue, the seriously injured firefighter was rushed to a nearby hospital. His condition, reported as "very critical," is being closely monitored as per the Chicago Fire Department Media's (CFD) tweet.

The incident has led to immediate closures surrounding the area of Lincoln Ave., between Fullerton and Altgeld, per NBC Chicago. This has inevitably disrupted the residents in the vicinity. Lincoln Station, located at 2432 N. Lincoln Ave., houses 12 apartments whose damages are still unclear.
