
Today, two individuals sustained injuries, and two are in critical condition due to gunshot wounds during the early morning hours in Chicago.
One of these incidents took place roughly at 2:22 a.m. in the 10th District. A male victim, 25-year-old, was transported quickly to Mt. Sinai Hospital because of a gunshot wound to the lower back according to reports from the Chicago Police Department. The victim was listed in good condition but was unable to provide more details of the incident. Area Four Detectives are currently investigating, with no suspects in custody.
Shortly after, at around 2:37 a.m., a 23-year-old male became a gunshot victim in the 4th District as reported in a media incident report. After being shot in the abdomen, he was transported to the University of Chicago hospital and continues to remain in serious condition. Despite detailing the incident to officers, the unidentified offender still remains at large, having fled the scene in a black pickup truck. Area Two Detectives are in the process of their investigation without a suspect in custody.
Around 1:50 a.m. a 35-year-old male suffered a gunshot wound to his thigh in the 12th District. The victim was transported to the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) hospital according to a media incident report and is presently in good condition. However, providing minimal information about his attacker or the events leading up to the incident led to the victim's uncooperativeness with the investigation. Area Three Detectives are investigating with a suspect still at large.
The earliest incident took place at approximately 12:32 a.m. in the 11th District. A verbal altercation between an 18-year-old male offender turned into a shooting when he shot the victim, a 38-year-old man, multiple times. The victim was moved to Stroger Hospital and is in critical condition. Officers were able to apprehend the offender swiftly as noted by the Chicago Police Department. Area Four Detectives are conducting their investigations, and charges are to be officially announced soon.
