A heartbreaking event occurred in the northwestern suburbs of Chicago, as the body of a previously missing duck hunter, named Patrick Serzynski, was recovered from Fourth Lake. As covered in a CBS News article dated November 6th, 60-year-old, Serzynski went on a duck hunting expedition at Fourth Lake. The finding of his boat and personal possessions by a duck blind triggered a massive search and rescue operation.
As documented in a Hoodline article, dive teams along with rescue boats from the Lake Villa and Antioch fire departments joined the cause, scouring the large water body. Day one of the search was cut short by nightfall, but efforts persisted till Serzynski's body was eventually found.
Subsequently, the Lake County Coroner's office confirmed that the recovered body indeed belonged to Serzynski, and preliminary post-mortem results suggested drowning as the cause of death.
