
On November 3, a three-vehicle accident occurred at 135 King Street (Route 3A), Cohasset. The involved vehicles were a 1995 Mack dump truck, a 2019 Toyota 4Runner, and a 2021 Land Rover according to the Cohasset Police Department.
The incident happened when the Mack dump truck coming from the same direction to quickly collided with the Toyota 4Runner, which consequently affected the Land Rover. The impact of the collision forced the Mack truck off the road as reported by the Cohasset Police Department.
Minor injuries were reported, amidst which a German Shepherd dog sustained cuts and bruises due to being in a metal travel crate in the back of the 4Runner during the time of impact. Thanks to the Cohasset Firefighters and Paramedics, the dog was released from the wreckage and sent for medical care via Hull Animal Control.
The Weymouth resident who was operating the Mack truck did receive a criminal citation for numerous offenses including failure to drive within marked lanes and wear a seatbelt. The vehicle's owner, a contractor from Cohasset, was also reprimanded for having an uninspected commercial vehicle on public property.
Following the accident, towing was required, and Route 3A northbound was closed nearly for 45 minutes.
