Earlier today, an AT&T worker was fatally electrocuted during work hours at a facility in Cambridge. The incident happened around 8:45 a.m. on Bent Street, and despite immediate CPR assistance and expedited hospitalization, the worker did not survive, as reported by CBS News.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) immediately began an investigation concerning the circumstances of the incident. The identity of deceased worker has yet to be not released. It is suspected that the worker was electrocuted upon contact with a charged piece of equipment during a demolition project, according to NBC Boston.
"We are deeply saddened by the loss of the contractor's employee and our thoughts are with their family, friends, and colleagues.", expressed AT&T through their spokesperson, Karen Twomey. The company has pledged to fully cooperate with the investigators and the contractor to dissect every detail of the incident, as detailed by MassLive.
