All profits raised from these tickets will be allocated towards their aid. The ticket was introduced earlier this week and is available across the state. It is a scheme that has been operating since 2006 and has yielded over $21 million for nearly 400 veterans' organizations.
Illinois Lottery's Director Harold Mays and IDVA's Director Terry Prince unveiled this year's ticket, demonstrating their dedication to the welfare of state veterans. "Partnering with IDVA and the phenomenal organizations that gain from the Veterans' Cash Grants quickly reassures us," Mays said. "Our special ticket provides entertainment to our players, the opportunity for them to win, and supports the service men and women of our nation."
Programs funded by Veterans' Cash Grants offer important services like housing assistance, long-term care, disability benefits, employment services, and PTSD treatment, emphasized IDVA Director Prince. The IDVA's Veterans' Cash Grant Authorization Committee scrutinizes applications and issues grants to organizations that prove their need. Government agencies and tax-exempt entities delivering veterans' assistance or intending to extend into this sector are eligible to apply.
Non-profit organizations interested in applying for a Veterans' Cash Grant can access the online application process via Amplifund's modernized grant management system. Grant submissions are due by June 30, with a starting date of October 1, and will conclude on September 30, 2024.
