Earlier this week, a two-alarm fire broke out at a multi-unit apartment building at 30 Park Avenue in Revere. The fire was noted as suspicious, and investigators determined it had been started intentionally, confirmed by Revere Fire Chief Christopher P. Bright, Revere Police Chief David J. Callahan, and State Fire Marshal Jon M. Davine in an official press release dated November 7. The blaze resulted in two residents needing medical assistance and displacement of numerous other tenants.
The fire, initially reported at 5:49 p.m., rapidly escalated and required immediate action from local firefighters. They rescued two occupants, who were then transported to a nearby hospital due to their injuries. The Revere Fire and Police Departments, as well as state troopers, conducted a joint investigation to uncover the fire's cause. Subsequently, the Arson Watch Reward Program hotline number was posted around the scene, seeking public assistance in the case.
Officials are urging local residents and witnesses to share any information on the fire with the investigators via the Arson Watch Reward Program at 1-800-682-9229. The program, sponsored by the Massachusetts Property Insurance Underwriting Association, offers rewards of up to $5,000 for information leading to the detection or prevention of arson crimes, providing an incentive for individuals with crucial information to step forward.
