Chaos erupted in Chicago’s Archer Heights neighborhood when a domestic dispute turned bloody, leaving a man and a woman with serious stab wounds and a suspect behind bars, officials say. The violence unfolded early Friday inside a South Springfield Avenue home, where an argument escalated sharply after midnight according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
The 44-year-old woman suffered a brutal stab wound to the head, and a 42-year-old man's hands were slashed as they argued with another man who suddenly pulled a knife, unleashing the terror, police detailed. The bloodied woman was rushed in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital escorted by the Chicago Fire Department. The man, although wounded, received care at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and emerged in fair shape as per CBS Chicago.
The authorities have the alleged assailant in custody, with Area 1 detectives deep into the investigation, looking to untangle the events that led up to the gruesome affair.
