
Chicago's police force is on the hunt for a man connected with the recent sexual assault of a woman in West Town. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the victim was attacked after walking away from a bus stop last Thursday.
The assailant followed the woman from a bus stop at approximately 5 p.m. before forcefully pulling her into an alleyway on the 2400 block of West Superior Street, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. A citizen intervened upon her screams, chasing the threat into the shadows.
The perpetrator is described by authorities as a "disheveled and dirty" black male, standing between 5-foot-4 and 5-foot-7 with short black hair, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. In an illustrative appeal to the public, the Chicago PD has been disseminating surveillance photos of the suspect, whose attire at the time of the attack was a beige fleece sweater, marked by green "half-front" alongside beige sleeves, complemented by blue jeans and white high-top gym shoes.
The police urge anyone who might have witnessed the incident or have any relevant information to step forward and contact the Area 3 detectives at 312-744-8261 as per the ABC7 Chicago report.
