On November 15, the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) will introduce a new platform to replace its MyCharlie website. This transition brings several enhancements but discontinues the online reload of CharlieCards, as reported by MassLive.
Though this change, the aim is to streamline the experience of public transport. Users will be able to register multiple cards in one place and request replacement cards with ease, as reported by Boston 25 News.
While CharlieCard online reloads will be terminated, the new site will still support the purchase of Commuter Rail, Ferry, and Express Bus passes on CharlieTickets. Existing MyCharlie account holders will have their data migrated to the new platform, with easy setup for automatic monthly payments, according to MassLive.
