Seattle's revered Piroshky Piroshky is bringing its iconic pastries to San Diego via a pop-up event on December 5. Since its establishment in 1992, the bakery has gained fame for its Eastern European-style pastries featured in Anthony Bourdain's "No Reservations" and ranked among the "20 Most Iconic Food Destinations Across America" by Smithsonian Magazine.
The upcoming San Diego pop-up is part of the bakery's 31st-anniversary tour, which included a previous stop in the city earlier this year. The event will take place at Elks Lodge on 430 Jackson Dr. Attendees will have the opportunity to try the famous piroshki—yeast buns filled with ingredients like rhubarb, potato, and cheese. The decision to make a second stop in Southern California was influenced by the region's considerable demand for Piroshky Piroshky's offerings according to Piroshky Piroshky news.
Interested consumers are expected to pre-order their piroshki online by 2 p.m. on December 3. Piroshky Piroshky promises that all pastries delivered for the pop-up are freshly made-to-order. After fulfilling orders in San Diego, the bakery's tour will head to Anaheim and Westchester, with the same made-to-order model in place as per FOX 5 San Diego.
