In an alarming spate of brazen gunpoint muggings, a silver Kia has become the signal of terror for residents on Chicago's North and Northwest sides. According to the Chicago Tribune, at least three individuals were accosted by gunmen in two separate incidents, both connected by the ominous approach of the same vehicle.
The first robbery targeted a 27-year-old woman walking on North Lincoln Avenue early Wednesday morning when a silver Kia pulled up and three armed men descended upon her. With no choice but to surrender her belongings, the woman watched the assailants flee with her property. Barely ten minutes later, a disturbingly similar scenario unfolded for two victims on North Sacramento Avenue when a pack of five bandits emerged from the same make of car, guns in hand, demanding valuables.
As fear grips the community, the authorities have ramped up their pursuit. CBS Chicago reports that these incidents occurred around 2:30 a.m., with the robbers targeting pedestrians on the sidewalk before hastily retreating into the Chicago night.
