Today, a 15-year-old boy experienced the unfortunate reality of gun violence in Chicago. At approximately 3:39 a.m., the teenager was walking through an Austin neighborhood alley in the 5000 Block of W. Monroe and heard shots ring out, only to realize he'd been hit, the Chicago Police Department reported.

Once he arrived at Stroger Hospital, medical staff found gunshot wounds on his knee, thigh, and arm.

Although he was listed in good condition, the perpetrator of the act was still at large at the time of the report, and Area Four Detectives are investigating.
