Texas is breaking new ground in the field of advanced air mobility (AAM). Overair, noteworthy in the AAM industry, recently forged a partnership with the city of Arlington, aiming to build electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) operations at Arlington Municipal Airport, per the City of Arlington, Texas. This announcement follows Overair's agreement with Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport to introduce eVTOL services within the DFW Metroplex.
In the first partnership of its sort, Overair teams up with Arlington—a Texas city—a move that brings Arlington one step closer to becoming an eVTOL-equipt hub. Overair aims to eventually roll out its services throughout the DFW region, providing access to Arlington's bustling Entertainment District and its key attractions according to the City of Arlington, Texas.
Together, Overair and Arlington will form a task force to face the project's challenges and mark its milestones. Initially, Overair will conduct a feasibility study to measure local demand for AAM services and consider possible flight operations to and from vertiport locations.
