A Thanksgiving morning outing turned into a nightmare when a 2-year-old boy and a 37-year-old man were mowed down by a vehicle in downtown Chicago's bustling Loop district. The little boy was rushed to the hospital after the harrowing incident, which took place in the city's heart at about 8:18 a.m. on Thursday as per NBC Chicago.
The child, whose condition was thankfully stabilized, was crossing East Randolph Street with the adult male when tragedy struck them. Despite the early hour on a holiday, the streets of Chicago were alive, but not as alive as the palpable tension that filled the air following the crash.
The toddler was soon in the care of Lurie Children's Hospital, fighting a battle far too big for someone so small as reported by ABC7 Chicago.
