Anoka County has landed a prestigious fiscal accolade, becoming the only Minnesota county to bag the cashVest 90+ award in 2023. The Anoka County Board of Commissioners doled out praises like candy to the County’s Finance and Central Services Division employees on Dec. 19 for their sharp financial acumen and management skills. The award, no small feat, celebrates top-notch handling of liquidity amongst the public and higher education marketplaces, as stated by Anoka County Administration.
The criteria for success are said to be as strict as they come - with only 22 percent of public finance offices even cutting this recognition. Matt Look, chair of the Anoka County Board of Commissioners, didn't hold back, saying, "This is one way we can make money — by making smart decisions," during the commendation, as per Anoka County Administration.
Cory Kampf, Chief Financial Officer, gushed with pride over the recent win, saying in a statement revealed by Anoka County, "We are very privileged to get this award." He went on to the collective hustle it takes, noting, "We work alongside our banks to increase our returns and optimally gain whatever we can for the county. It takes a team effort, and I think we have a great program," according to Anoka County Administration.
