Chicago was rocked yet again by a brazen act of crime as two armed individuals targeted a local restaurant on Lincoln Avenue late Monday night. According to Chicago Tribune, the pair entered the establishment in the 6100 block around 11:35 p.m., where they brandished weapons and demanded cash from an employee who was manning the register.
Fleeing the scene in a blue sedan, the robbers managed to evade immediate capture after committing the heist. FOX 32 Chicago reported they entered a restaurant close to 11:37 p.m. in Pulaski Park's neighborhood, a detail that spotlights not only their audaciousness but also the precision of their operation.
The quick action of the restaurant employee may have prevented further escalation, as they promptly handed over the demanded money to the assailants, minimizing the potential for violence. No customers or staff were harmed during the robbery, leaving their physical well-being intact despite the financial hit to the business.
Chicago police, who are now seeking the blue sedan's passengers, have yet to secure any suspects in custody. Area Five detectives are taking the lead in the investigation.
