Atlanta residents can look forward to a stretch of mostly sunny skies and mild temperatures rounding out the week, with the mercury hovering around the mid-50s. Today is anticipated to be mostly sunny with a high of 58 degrees, accompanied by only a whisper of wind, shifting northeast in the afternoon, according to forecasts.
The evening will bring partly cloudy skies as the temperature drops to a cool 39 degrees. As the week progresses, temperatures will take a slight downturn, with Friday's high near 55 and the low at 38, under partly cloudy night skies.
Looking ahead toward the weekend, Atlantans should prepare for an uptick in cloud coverage on Saturday, which could lead to rainfall overnight. Come Sunday, the forecast promises showers with a likelihood of 60 percent and a persistent cloud cover, capping temperatures at 54 degrees.
The new week is expected to start with a lingering chance of showers on Monday, although at a decreased probability of 30 percent.
