The Austin Police Department is on the lookout for a female suspect linked to a robbery and subsequent credit card fraud that unfolded in a Costco parking lot earlier this month. The incident took place at the 10401 Research Blvd. location on December 14, at about 7:44 p.m., as per the request for public assistance issued by the Austin Police Department (APD).
Details about the harrowing experience were sparse, the robbery unit shared that the victim, while trying to reclaim her snatched purse was dragged by the getaway vehicle. Not long after, the alleged assailant was caught on camera making purchases with the stolen credit card. In an image circulated by the department, the suspect appears as a young Black female, estimated to be between the ages of 20 and 30, standing roughly at 5'0" with a medium build.
She was spotted wearing a blue Adidas hoodie paired with blue and white shorts and donned what looked to be brown or tan slippers. In a push to bring the suspect to justice, the APD Robbery unit has turned to locals for help, urging anyone who has any leads to step forward.
Citizens with information that could result in an arrest might see themselves rewarded—Austin authorities are dangling a carrot in the form of a $1,000 reward through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program.
