CNN identified Maese-Czeropski, an aide to Democratic Senator Ben Cardin of Maryland, as the individual linked to a scandal that is sending shockwaves through congressional corridors. After the tape made its rounds, a spokesperson from Senator Cardin's office confirmed to SFist that Maese-Czeropski "is no longer employed by the U.S. Senate," refraining, however, from diving into the details of his dismissal.
