Chicago streets have turned hazardous as smartphone deals turn to daylight robberies, with a series of armed incidents rattling the community. Victims were lured into the trap through social media giant Facebook—agreements to purchase to-be-treacherous tech at specific addresses.

The most recent string of these brazen daylight robberies has plagued Chicago's 11th and 15th Districts, with the suspects having managed to so far successfully evade capture despite the anxiety-ridden calls to authorities immediately following the incidents.

Per the Chicago Police Department, crimes were reported at the following hotspots: the 5400 block of West Washington Blvd. on November 25 at half past noon; the 3700 block of West Arthington St. on Saturday at a quarter past four in the afternoon, and again on the 3700 block of West Arthington St. but this time at half past one P.M. on December 3. The criminal description has been narrow-cast almost to precision: two African American males, the first ranging from 5'08 to 6'00 in height, 160lbs, 25–35 years old, and the second standing 5'10 with a weight of 330lbs, distinguishable by a chipped front left tooth.

"Value your life over any and all property," the Chicago Police Department cautioned in a warning. Citizens are to remember any unique physical characteristics and never attempt to actively pursue a fleeing assailant, but instead, they are urged to provide every scrap of information to the police.

All such details and directives have been laid out on the PD's alert page, which can be found at Chicago PD Community Alert
