Carlsbad residents faced a slew of road closures Thursday morning as crews worked to clear hazards left by a recent storm. The City of Carlsbad Police Department issued a cautionary statement, urging drivers to navigate with extreme care due to the closure of several roads. Motorists should expect delays as tree crews and city personnel manage the aftermath across critical intersections.
According to the City of Carlsbad Police Department, all southbound lanes of El Camino Real from Faraday Ave to Palomar Airport Rd, and again from Dove Ln to Aviara Pkwy, were shut down. Aviara Pkwy also faced closures, both eastbound at Ambrosia Ln and westbound at Batiquitos Dr. Additionally, eastbound Aviara Pkwy at El Camino Real was inaccessible, keeping commuters on high alert, and city crews rushed to reopen these vital arteries for the morning traffic.
In a pre-dawn update, the City of Carlsbad assured motorists via their Facebook page that some of the roads had been reopened, though city teams were still on-site working at various locations. The advice was simple but stern: slow down and give yourself ample time to safely reach your destination amidst the ongoing cleanup efforts.
The City provided a hotline for reporting additional storm damage, marking the number 442-339-2197 as the non-emergency line, vital in ensuring that the cityscape remains a charted terrain, navigable despite nature's unscripted interruptions. Residents were asked to keep communication lines open for smooth coordination during restoration as the community braced to cushion the storm's disruptive blow.
