
22-year-old Daitwon Cobbin from the 7000 block of S. Sangamon St. has been charged by the Chicago Police Department (CPD) with one count of first-degree murder, one count of aggravated battery with the discharge of a firearm, one count of armed robbery, one count of attempt murder in the first degree, and one count of murder in connection with another forcible felony, according to a statement released by the CPD.
The grim narrative unfolded on July 26, when Cobbins allegedly did fatally shot a 57-year-old man and severely wounded another, a 51-year-old male, in the 7000 block of S. Laflin St. Police say that following the shooting, the assailant proceeded to rob his victims. Cobbins was apprehended on December 17 and now awaits a detention hearing slated for today at the court on 2600 S. California.
