A grisly discovery was made in an East Chatham neighborhood alley where a male victim was found unresponsive, riddled with bullets late last night. According to the Chicago Tribune, the body was located in the 1100 block of East 81st Place shortly after the stroke of midnight. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, suffering multiple gunshot wounds.
The identity of the victim has yet to be released as the investigation continues, the Chicago police have yet to apprehend any suspects in the case, and detectives are currently investigating leads. Additionally, a report by the Chicago Sun-Times mentioned the victim was found around 12:10 a.m., suggesting the shooting may have occurred shortly before he was discovered.
As of now, the Chicago police have not released further details of the investigation; however, the department urges anyone with information to come forward to help bring justice to the victim and alleviate the community’s unrest.
