A 16-year-old male has been charged with aggravated robbery after being accused of a brazen daylight heist in Chicago's 15th District last month, the Chicago Police Department reported. The juvenile, whose name has not been disclosed due to his age, is facing one felony count of robbery with indication of a firearm and one felony count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon by a person under 21.
According to the press release from the Chicago Police Department, the incident unfolded on November 12, 2023, when the offender allegedly approached a 47-year-old woman in the 4800 block of W. Haddon Ave. and forcibly took her property. He purportedly implied possession of a firearm during the commission of the crime. The arrest was made on Thursday, when a weapon was found on the young man when the officials took him into custody.
The youth, still unnamed, awaits his day in court to respond to the allegations pressed against him.
