A Chicago woman has been slapped with murder and attempted murder charges after a shooting spree last month that left one man dead and three women wounded, authorities said.

Deja Collins, 23, was cuffed by Chicago Police Department detectives at her home on the 4300 block of W. Wilcox St. nearly a week after the fatal incident. The shooting occurred on November 29 around 8:34 p.m. on the 3600 block of W. Flournoy St., where Collins allegedly unleashed a hail of bullets, according to the Chicago Police Department's charge release.

Collins has been slammed with one felony count of first-degree murder for the death of a 23-year-old man, as she was also charged with three felony counts each of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated battery with a firearm. The latter charges stem from the injuries inflicted upon a 24-year-old female, a 21-year-old female, and a 31-year-old female, who all suffered serious gunshot wounds during the tragic event.

The case moved to court, with Collins facing a detention hearing on December 9 in Cook County. In the shootout, which appeared as a scene of chaos and despair unfolded in the darkening evening, one of the victims was shot while being taken to a local hospital. The Chicago Police Department has sealed off any further details pending the ongoing investigation.

No motive has been disclosed in the shooting, and Collins remains in custody.
