A high-speed police chase came to a violent end in North Miami when a stolen ride smacked into a tree. The wild chase started in Miami Shores on Wednesday, according to Local 10 News, and featured a 2019 Hyundai Elantra with wheels reportedly boosted.
The ride, winding through the city streets, crashed on Northeast Second Avenue and 133rd Street. Chased by the cops, the suspects ditched the banged-up vehicle and attempted a getaway on foot. But the long arm of the law was quicker, Miami-Dade officers tackled the suspects after a short sprint through the neighborhood, as reported by WSVN.
Both subjects were apprehended and taken into custody. The Miami Shores Police Department is heading up the probe into the crash and the preceding chase, with Miami-Dade police backing them up.
Adding to the drama, two women may also have dipped out of the car as it careened down the roadway, but they bailed before the grim finale hit the tree, according to police statements obtained by Local 10 News. The aftermath of the pursuit left the neighborhood rattled, with tire tracks and debris marking the collision spot.
