Fresh off the surveillance cameras, footage captured one of the culprits cheerfully absconding with a package off Ivana Jocic's doorstep before escaping in a U-Haul truck. "To see how something so mean and evil could make someone happy" was enraging, Jocic told Local 10.
Authorities are on the lookout for the holiday heisters who targeted homes around West Park Road and Sheridan Street. The thefts spotlight the growing trend of porch piracy, which victimized approximately 260 million deliveries nationwide in 2022, costing consumers a hefty $19.5 billion.
As per a statement by the Florida Daily Bugle, detectives are encouraging anyone with information on the Grinch impersonators. Tips can be anonymously submitted to Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
