
A 30-year-old man died in Concord on Monday after his vehicle veered off the road and collided with a traffic sign on Kirker Pass Road, local authorities reported. The fatal crash occurred around 3:40 p.m. near Hess Road, which led to a road closure for several hours as the Concord Police Department commenced investigations into the incident, the East Bay Times reported.
The man's identity has not been released pending notification of his next of kin. The Concord Police Department has not yet ascertained what prompted the driver to lose control of the vehicle, which led to a shutdown of the roadway that was later reopened. Witnesses and passersby were detoured as the scene was methodically examined by officials, according to a brief statement by the Concord Police Department shared on X post.
