A Miami Northwestern Senior High School security guard faces legal repercussions following allegations of inappropriate conduct with students. Thirty-two-year-old Diajion Jones was caught on the school's surveillance system engaging in unseemly behavior, with one recorded incident displaying Jones slapping a student's rear. The student stood in the school hallway when the event unfolded on Monday.
As per NBC Miami, the surveillance footage played a pivotal role in the investigation. In addition to this incident, another student accused Jones of making explicit comments and making unwanted physical contact, offering her access to a private room to abandon class. After reaching the room, Jones proceeded to place his hand on her buttocks and, even after her refusal, continued to coerce her for a hug.
The charges mounted against Jones include battery and offenses against students by authority figures. Upon discovering the allegations, Miami-Dade County Public Schools reacted by initiating termination proceedings against Jones and assuring that such conduct ran counter to the expected professionalism of their employees. "This type of behavior will not be tolerated," the District stated, according to WSVN.
After being taken into custody at the school yesterday, Jones was transported to jail with a bond set at $9,000. While in bond court, the judge demanded that Jones stay away from the two students implicated; he was ordered away from the school as well.
The administration has pledged full cooperation with the ongoing investigation, ensuring no stone is left unturned in the pursuit of truth and justice for the involved students.
