A standoff that gripped a Napa neighborhood over the weekend ended with law enforcement making swift arrests after shots were fired in a residential area. According to the Napa Police Department press release, the dicey standoff began with a 911 call about a verbal dispute in the 500 block of Montgomery Street, where neighbors reported hearing a man shout, "I'm going to shoot you!" followed by gunshots.
The considerable law enforcement response came swiftly after the initial 911 call, with a combined effort from the Napa Police Department, the Napa County Sheriff's Office, and additional emergency services moving in to secure the scene. Temples of peace were reestablished only after three individuals were brought into custody and the threat neutralized, the Napa PD Hoodline reported. Community members were advised by Napa PD via a Facebook post to avoid the area as the incident unfolded and SWAT and crisis negotiators worked to resolve the situation.
Efforts to communicate with those inside the residence were made in both English and Spanish through a public address system, with officers demanding, "Please come out with your hands up, or force will be used against you" in a scene that could have escalated into greater violence but for the meticulous and staged law enforcement response. Napa PD's strategy and diligence in the face of potential danger were resolute, executing a coordinated mission that brought Marlo Angeleri, Colleen Angeleri, and Patrick Sheehan into custody by around 2:23 PM after tense hours of negotiation.
Authorities found a .40 caliber pistol and evidence of the firearm being discharged at the scene, the Napa Police report detailed, confirming the charges against the trio for delaying and obstructing a peace officer as the investigation presses on neighbors, who now look forward to a return to tranquility after the midday disturbance.
