Starting on December 22nd and again on December 26th, the Newark Police Department has announced that construction crews will be hitting the streets of Newark Blvd and Cedar Blvd to fix some pesky infrastructure issues. Drivers are advised to find alternative routes to avoid the disruptions, as per the Newark Police Department.

The work involves repairing damaged asphalt concrete which has taken its toll on the traffic signal loops and timing at various intersections along these roads. To fix this, crews will have to start working on December 22nd, and there's no way to truly sugarcoat it—expect delays. Traffic signal loops are set to get some much-needed TLC tomorrow, Friday December 22nd, with crews gearing up to reprogram the traffic signals back to their original timing on Tuesday, December 26th. "Please continue to follow all traffic laws," the Newark Police Department urged in a statement, while also extending "our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused", per the Newark Police Department.
