Plano's streets turned into a stage for a dramatic late-night chase as cops cornered a notorious gang linked to multiple shootings and burglaries. The bust unfolded in the early hours of November 18, when Dallas PD trailed a white Dodge Challenger into Plano territory, signaling an SOS to local law enforcement for backup, as reported by the Plano Texas Police Department.
Officers Maxey and Odom stepped up to the bat, spotting the suspects pulled up in a drive-thru on Coit Rd. The vehicle was infamous for its connection to reckless gunfire incidents that terrorized drivers in several jurisdictions. With the air heavy with the threat of danger, a high-risk traffic stop unfolded. Illicit sparks flew as the suspect trio split; two scrambled in breakneck sprints while the driver, frozen in the headlights, was promptly detained.
The chase didn't end there. With Dallas PD in tandem, the other subjects were nabbed despite their desperate bids for escape. The takedown took a cinematic turn when one on the lam tried to ditch a pistol down a sewer, forcing firefighters onto the scene to fish out the evidence.
But the cracks in the Challenger's armor revealed more than just the will to run. A black handgun complete with a drum magazine took the backseat while a pungent whiff of marijuana wafted through the air. Digging deeper, cops uncovered a silver pistol, a lever-action BB rifle, and BBs, topping off the list of their damning cargo. The scene, straight out of a heist flick, was set against the backdrop of a mundane drive-thru lane under the cloak of night.
It wasn't just about the hot pursuit. The gang had their hands in a spree of car burglaries across Plano, preying on at least six victims. The badges are tallying the charges Evading Detention, Unlawful Carrying of Weapons, and active warrants are on the docket, with pending charges for Burglary of Motor Vehicles, Criminal Mischief, and Deadly Conduct waiting in the wings.
