A tragedy struck Atlanta's Oakland City neighborhood Wednesday night when a shooting at a local gas station left three people wounded, including a 68-year-old woman. As reported by FOX 5 Atlanta, the incident occurred just after 8 p.m. at the Texaco station situated at the junction of Lee Street and White Oak Avenue.
Despite being injured, all victims were conscious when help arrived. When they were brought to the hospital, their conditions were preserved as alert, as stated by the Atlanta Police Department. A 20-year-old man suffered wounds to his midsection, and another man, whose age is unknown, was found with several gunshot wounds throughout his body.
While the authorities spent hours at the crime scene gathering evidence and engaging with witnesses, they left no stone unturned. Surveillance footage was reviewed rigorously and detailed by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. As of now, no suspects have been named, and the reason behind the shooting remains murky.
As officers scoured the area, a K-9 unit joined the effort, brought in to assist in what they were searching for, which was not immediately clear. The 68-year-old woman, caught in the crossfire, was struck in the legs, adding to the evening's senseless harm. Even as they received medical attention promptly, no further details about their state of health were divulged.
