Two young men are now facing charges for the fatal shooting of a Norcross man that occurred in October, as per the Gwinnett County Police Department. The victim, identified as 20-year-old Edward Thompson of Peachtree Corners, succumbed to his injuries after being transported to Northside Hospital by his friends.
The incident, authorities believe, took place following an altercation on the 4800 block of Jimmy Carter Boulevard. The first of the suspects, 19-year-old Styles Gann from Conyers, was apprehended on October 24. His peer, 20-year-old Kevin Pacheco from Atlanta, followed suit with his arrest on December 7. Both individuals now face serious felony charges including murder and aggravated assault, with information released by Atlanta News First.
Gann and Pacheco have been charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of certain felonies, reckless conduct, and the unauthorized discharge of a firearm within 50 yards of a public highway. Both suspects are currently booked into the Gwinnett County Jail as the investigation proceeds.
According to a report by Gwinnett County's official website, detectives launched an intensive investigation following the incident, which included canvassing the area and gathering evidence from the crime scene. The Gwinnett Police Department is still urging anyone with information to come forward and can do so anonymously through Crime Stoppers, potentially earning a cash reward for details leading to an arrest and indictment.
