South San Francisco Police Department announced that Osiel Cota, a man with special needs last seen at the local playground, was now located, according to the official update report.
Earlier, the authorities launched a full-scale search and asked for the public's help finding the mid-twenties male who vanished around 11:00 am at Orange Memorial Park, Hoodline reports.
Osiel, who is non-verbal and communicates only in Spanish, was wearing a distinctive outfit with a gray and black jacket and a red shirt with "We ain’t leaving until six in the morning" emblazoned on the front. His shirt also sported an "AMR" sticker. He is around five feet tall and weighs approximately 190 lbs., with a heavier build. The police department, in their plea for assistance, has released Osiel's photo and details of his appearance on their Facebook page.
As the community's concern grows and daylight fades, the urgency to find Cota increases. "Given the specific details of his clothing, authorities are hopeful that someone will recall seeing the man," detailed Hoodline. Cota's vulnerability is exacerbated by his limited ability to communicate, which makes the search for him all the more critical.
The police are asking anyone with information, or who spots someone matching Osiel's description to not hesitate, but call 9-1-1 or the department at 650-877-8900 immediately. With each passing moment, the risk to Cota, who requires special assistance, heightens as the elements and other possible dangers loom.
