
A 15-year-old boy has been charged with a felony count of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm for an incident that occurred last summer, the Chicago Police Department reported.
The juvenile was taken into custody on January 23, 2024, in the 1100 block of S. Hamilton Ave according to the Chicago Police Department. Police identified him as one of the individuals involved in the June 27, 2023 hijacking, when a 59-year-old man was forcibly deprived of his vehicle at gunpoint, at approximately 3:45 a.m., in the 4300 block of N. Western Ave.
The authorities stated that the offender has now been charged accordingly. The details surrounding the capture or the methodology leading to the juvenile's identification have not been publicized.
As of now, no additional information regarding the case or the underage offender has been made available. The juvenile's name has not been released due to his age, and the investigation continues as the Chicago Police Department pursues further leads in connection to the crime.
