Jet-setters and business moguls alike, pack your bags: Alaska Airlines is charting a course straight from Seattle to Toronto with a new nonstop service set to take off on May 16, 2024. The daily flights will bridge the Pacific Northwest with Canada's largest city, marking a first for Alaska Airlines' home airport in Seattle, according to an official announcement on the Alaska Airline's newsroom. Tickets are on the market now, and travelers can snag their spot on the inaugural journey through Alaska Airlines' website.

The Seattle-based carrier isn't new to Canadian skies, having already conquered routes to Calgary, Edmonton, Kelowna, Vancouver, and Victoria; however, Toronto is the newest pin on their map of destinations, and it's teeming with attractions for every kind of traveler, from the lush green parks to the diverse culinary delights, and the vibrant history that paints every corner of the city’s bustling streets and quaint neighborhoods.

Kirsten Amrine, Alaska Airlines' vice president of revenue management and network planning, heralded the new route, saying, "There’s a strong desire by our guests for a Seattle-Toronto flight that connects a pair of exciting cities not only for leisure travel but also links key business centers between the U.S. and Canada." These words, echoing the strategic move to meet customer demand, offer a peek into the airlines’ navigation through the industry's ever-evolving demands and a commitment to expanding their navigational charts.

The first flight from Seattle to Toronto is set to leave at 7:00 a.m., reaching Toronto by 2:40 p.m. The return journey starts in Toronto at 3:40 p.m., landing in Seattle at 5:55 p.m. Both legs of the trip will use the 737-900 aircraft, connecting two diverse hubs of commerce and culture.

Alaska Airlines has a history with eastern Canada, having previously flown nonstop from Los Angeles to Toronto in the early '90s. Their Canadian expansion doesn't end there, with a partnership formed with Porter Airlines, a Canadian carrier that's been making waves from their base in Toronto. These collaborations are sure to streamline itineraries and ease the travel experience for flyers embarking from the West Coast and beyond.
