A brazen robbery at gunpoint inside a Concord motel ended with a high-stakes chase and a suspect booked into the clink. The Concord Police Department reported that the incident occurred on the 4600 block of Clayton Rd, where an armed perp held up a female victim.
The woman's quick thinking enabled her to provide a solid suspect and getaway car description, which promptly put local officers on high alert. They spotted the vehicle soon after, and despite attempting to pull the suspect over, he bolted, ditching cops in a daring escape. The Concord Police detailed the chase in a Facebook post, narrating how the man's flight from justice was a brief one: residents on Walters Way called in a solo car crash where the same suspect smashed into a wall and tried to make a run for it on foot.
Concord cops swarmed the area, forming a perimeter that soon became the fugitive's temporary cage. Police K9 units sniffed out the suspect, finding him cowering inside a garbage enclosure when the hide-and-seek came to a grim finale for him.
