Months after a health scare that sidelined him from the movie-making action, Jamie Foxx has bounced back on the Atlanta set of his latest Netflix film, proving resilience trumps adversity. The Hollywood heavyweight was snapped alongside Cameron Diaz, tackling stunts with a fervor that signals his recuperation is going strong.
According to a report by WSB-TV, Foxx and Diaz were seen filming a dynamic scene that included jumping out of a van, and darting into a building,— a testament to Foxx's return to form after last year's undisclosed illness. The Netflix original, "Back in Action," had its production halted when Foxx was abruptly hospitalized in April.
It was during his poignant appearance at the Critics Choice Association's event in December that Foxx made his first public remarks about his condition. There, he revealed the gravity of his situation, confessing, "It's crazy, I couldn't do that six months ago. I couldn't actually walk," as he was honored with an award. These statements were initially detailed by FOX5 Atlanta.
Despite the limited details regarding his health episode, the actor humorously admitted during his award acceptance that he "saw the tunnel," a comment that sparked a mixture of concern and relief among his audience. Sources close to the project conveyed Foxx's determination, one insider revealing, "For Jamie, the show must go on and he has always been eager to see this project completed," a sentiment shared with FOX5 Atlanta.
With Foxx's return to the Atlanta set slated for completion in February, anticipation is high for the comeback tale of an entertainer not easily fazed by setbacks. "He looks and feels fantastic," mentioned another source in an exclusive with WSB-TV, hinting at a performance fans eagerly await to stream. Yet, while Netflix has been zipped tight on a release date, the anticipation continues to bubble for what could be a storied return for one of its stars.
