The city's Parks and Recreation Department is back at it with their 2024 Youth Flag Football League. That's right, tackle your winter blues in the warmth of the Carter Playground Bubble, the league's official playing field at 709 Columbus Avenue in Boston's South End. The season kicks off from January 27 and runs until March 2, fitting for those young Brady hopefuls, eager to throw their first pigskin, or for the speedster kiddos set to show off their slick juke moves.

The league is throwing a pass to inclusivity, offering divisions for 6U, 8U, 10U, and 12U players, according to an announcement on the Boston government website. Quick heads-up though, — early registration is a must since spots faster than a Belichick scowl, and you can snag those over at boston.gov/sports.

The league runs every Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to Noon, which means you’ve got enough of your weekend left to either celebrate your kid’s victory or nurse their defeat with a good slice of Boston cream pie. Games are scheduled from January 27 straight through to February 24. Then the real fun begins because on Saturday, March 2, it's playoff time.
