Brigham and Women’s Hospital reported the birth of Selena as Boston's revelry approached its peak, making her arrival into the world at exactly midnight. Her parents, Margarita, and Roberto of Dorchester celebrated the birth of their 6-pound, 5-ounce daughter as the hospital continued its streak of welcoming one of the first newborns for the third consecutive year. The family is reportedly doing great and resting comfortably.
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center greeted two other little girls into the world. Emily Margaret, weighing a healthy 7 pounds, 15 ounces, became the youngest member of the DeRoma family from Canton, her arrival eagerly awaited by her two sisters. At the same hospital, Min Li and Huaien Wang of Quincy celebrated the birth of their first child, Ophelia, who weighed in at 6 pounds, 8 ounces, as reported by WCVB.
